Our position on AI generated music

At Coda Music, we believe music should be made by people, not machines. While we use AI as a tool to improve the experience for fans and artists, we draw a clear line when it comes to AI-generated music: it has no place on Coda Music.

Why? Because it’s antithetical to our artist-first philosophy. We exist to support human creativity, not to replace it. AI music may be technically impressive, but it’s built on the backs of real artists - often without their consent, credit, or compensation. That’s not innovation, that’s exploitation.

We also recognize that this is a growing problem across the industry. There’s currently no reliable way to detect and filter out AI-generated tracks at scale. So while we’ll take every reasonable step to keep AI generated music off Coda, we know it won’t be perfect.

That’s where our community comes in. If you spot AI-generated music on the platform, let us know. We’ll investigate and remove it. Together, we can protect the creative ecosystem and keep Coda true to its mission: empowering real artists and the fans who believe in them.
