Biography
Formed as a blues-oriented side endeavor by Judah Bauer, guitarist with Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, together with his brother Donovan on drums, 20 Miles took shape only after Judah wrapped his work on the Blues Explosion LP Now I Got Worry. The Bauer siblings had already played music jointly since high school, yet the project itself crystallized at that moment. Once inside the studio they tracked their raw 1996 debut Ragged Backyard Classics—a triple 7" package released on the In the Red label—in under four hours. A self-titled album arrived in 1997, followed the next year by I'm a Lucky Guy.
