The adult alternative pop outfit 2AM Club specializes in romantic, soul-tinged pop and rock anchored by lead singer Marc Griffin. The group came together in Los Angeles in 2007 and later cut a demo under the guidance of producer Jerry Harrison, the onetime Talking Heads guitarist. Those sessions opened the door to a lengthy run of shows at the Derby in L.A., which in turn attracted industry notice and helped cultivate a loyal hometown audience. The band inked a deal with RCA in 2008 and shifted operations to New York City, where they unveiled their first album, What Did You Think Was Going to Happen?, in September 2010.
