Biography
Self-releasing their opening effort Collect Them All in 1997 enabled the Portland, Oregon rock outfit 44 Long to move a respectable number of copies across the Northwest and draw enough favorable notice to interest Sideburn, a Portland-based Burnside imprint, which released the follow-up Inside the Horse's Head in 1999. Frontman and principal songwriter Brian Berg, an alum of both the Maroons and the Oblivion Seekers, also produced the sessions and contributed many of the instrumental parts, while the remaining lineup consisted of bassist Eric Furlong, guitarist Andy Ricker, and drummer Cory Burden. The quartet remained silent on record until 2006, when the surviving members—minus Furlong—reconvened for Hangover Heights, Pt. 2.
