Biography
Although the late-1990s stoner metal scene thrived mainly within the United States, comparable groups emerged elsewhere, such as 7 Zuma 7 from Eindhoven in Holland. The band came together during the mid-1990s with an initial roster that included vocalist and guitarist Jerry van Eyck, guitarist John Peate, bassist Nick Sanders, and drummer Jacco van Rooij. A five-track self-titled EP appeared in 1997, resulting in performances at festivals including Dynamo Open Air in both 1996 and 1998 as well as Lowlands 1998, which earned enthusiastic support from Monster Magnet's Dave Wyndorf. Nick Sanders departed in December 1998, leading to a pair of temporary replacements on bass throughout 1999—Ronald Herregraven followed by Arjen Rienks—until Miranda Vandervoot secured the position on a permanent basis. During that same year, the group put out their first full-length album, Deep Inside, which contained an energetic rendition of the Who's "The Seeker."
