99 Posse

The 99 Posse came together in Naples, Italy during 1991. Their sound merged politically charged hip-hop elements with reggae and dancehall, while they adopted the militant left-wing activism common to political punk acts through the use of "Pay no more than..." stickers on their releases. Initially leaning toward reggae sounds on their early records, the group later shifted toward electronic directions, experimenting with drum'n'bass and hip-hop. After disbanding in 2001, they reformed in 2009 featuring a revised lineup. Their 2011 release Cattivi Guagliuni marked the first collection of original studio tracks in a decade and achieved some presence on Italian charts.
