Biography
Emerging from Dallas, Texas, A Dozen Furies first drew notice through their appearance as contestants on MTV's Battle for Ozzfest. This five-piece modern thrash outfit claimed victory in the competition, which granted them a slot on the second stage during the 2005 edition of the long-running heavy metal festival. The resulting MTV visibility, together with nonstop live performances both on and off the Ozzfest circuit, prompted the band to sign with Sanctuary Records, the label that issued their debut album, A Concept from Fire, in fall 2005.
