Biography
In 1995 the quartet known as A-Frame first appeared before audiences in their hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Gordy Mercado supplying vocals, Christian Kremo on bass, Gabe Melinn behind the drums, and Aaron Shave on guitar. Inspired by the heavy sounds of Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, and Pantera, the musicians spent the following years performing across western Michigan and eventually issued their debut EP, Six for the Road, on their self-founded Downcast Records in 2000.
