Biography
Abafana Baseqhudeni, whose name translates literally as the Cockrel Boys, represents a sharp departure from the standard mbaqanga format. Instead of relying on a dominant lead groaner supported by a five-part female chorus, the ensemble features an all-male roster. Potatoes Zuma and Elphas Mkize divide the spotlight with the required groaner, Robert 'Mbazo' Mkhize.
