Biography
Absinthe Blind originated in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, with its roster consisting of Adam Fein on guitar and vocals, Tristan Wraight covering guitar and keyboards, Mike Zolfo on bass, and Seth Fein on drums. Because Wraight passed much of his early years in England, the quartet’s neo-psychedelic pop naturally drew from British touchstones such as Radiohead, the Verve, the Stone Roses, My Bloody Valentine, and Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. The group’s first album, When Our Flashes Sway, appeared on Hammerhead in 1997 and was succeeded the next year by solarshift.
