Biography
Absolve crafts expansive heavy-metal passages that incorporate their foundational rock and roll roots alongside broader stylistic fusions. In Allston, MA, late in 2000, vocalist Adam J. Morse, guitarist Matt Rantz, bassist Paul Gerrish, and drummer Heath Davis assembled the group once earlier projects had fallen short of their artistic aims. Following months of preparation, the four-piece began regular appearances throughout Boston’s club circuit, drawing consistent praise from audiences. Those distinctive shows steadily expanded their following inside Massachusetts and into neighboring regions. The musicians entered a studio in March 2001 to capture their first release, the five-track EP titled The Anxiety of Influence.
