Abutre

In São Paulo, Brazil, the little-known heavy metal outfit Abutre—whose name translates to "Vulture" in their native Portuguese—assembled in 1982 with vocalist Wagner Giudice, guitarist Ricardo Giudice, bassist Thomas Paulo Catafay, and drummer Adalberto Rosado, Jr. Drawing on the period's standard sounds that blended Bay Area thrash with New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the quartet supplied two tracks for the 1985 compilation S.P. Metal II, a vital snapshot of the flourishing local scene, in an effort to obtain a recording contract. That goal never came to pass, however, so the band dissolved without producing any further material.
