Biography
Singer/songwriter Adam Schmitt first drew praise in the early 1990s after critics greeted his debut album World So Bright, released in 1991, and its 1993 successor Illiterature as the work of a young pop genius. When Reprise declined to issue a third record, he turned instead to recording other performers, engineering, producing, and mastering material for Tommy Keene, Hum, Beezus, Robynn Ragland, and additional artists at his home studio. Although ready by 1998 to refocus on his own songs, his perfectionism combined with ongoing production commitments postponed completion of the next album until mid-2001. Parasol released that project, Demolition, after Schmitt had begun his production career by collaborating with numerous artists on the label.
