Biography
Drawing from sounds as eccentric and groove-driven as Hot Chip’s spin on progressive rock, the San Francisco pair Adonisaurus formed in 2008. Derek Schmidt and Danyol Leon, the group’s two members, bonded over a mutual passion for Soft Cell, Diplo, and disco, prompting them to launch the project as an “analog only” endeavor at first. Only afterward did they add computers and laptops, along with their playful stage show, releasing their first recording, the EP Gigantic, in 2011.
