Biography
Having long harbored a deep interest in Terry Riley’s pioneering 1964 minimalist composition In C, Portishead guitarist Adrian Utley put together a dedicated ensemble for occasional performances of the piece. The group brought together nineteen guitarists, among them John Parish, Thought Forms, and Jim Barr, plus four organs and a bass clarinet. During a 2013 concert the musicians recorded In C live, and Invada issued the resulting album later that autumn.
