In 1970 the British trio Agincourt issued their sole privately pressed LP, Fly Away. Although the word “haunting” is applied too liberally to the style, songwriters Peter Howell and John Fernando delivered that quality with more pop sensibility than most acts in the U.K. folk-rock scene. Female vocalist Lee Menelaus completed the lineup, allowing fluid exchanges of male and female voices across lead and harmony parts. The album received a CD reissue in 1994, and the musicians later appeared on recordings by Alice Through the Looking Glass, Ithaca, and Tomorrow Come Some Day.
