Biography
Aptly named punk-rockers originating from Poughkeepsie, Agitpop cut a pair of albums on Community 3 Records between 1985 and 1986, with label-head Albert Garzon serving as producer. The band later switched to Minneapolis-based Twin/Tone for its concluding releases, Open Seasons and Stick It. Those LPs found Agitpop replacing its earlier punk stance and political focus with rock oriented toward broader pop appeal, before the group split up shortly after the 1980s ended.
