Biography
Aida Sock crafts an elegant and sophisticated sound shaped by classic soul, R&B, African pop, and hip-hop. Born Ndèye Aida Sock to Senegalese parents in the French-speaking city of Niamey, Niger, she spent most of her upbringing in Wolof-dominant Senegal and later acquired Spanish during her college years in Miami, Florida. She performs in French, Wolof, Spanish, and English. After qualifying for the first season of The Voice Afrique Francophone in 2016, where she interpreted material by artists such as Erykah Badu before being eliminated, she committed to music professionally. Her initial single, “With You (Sama Xol),” surfaced in 2017, followed by further tracks including the Admow collaboration “Kiding Kiding” and a featured appearance on Nix’s “Boul Falé.” She then unveiled her debut full-length, SAHH (Soulful Afro Hip Hop), in 2019 and returned the next year with “Bop Sa Bopp” along with “Dem,” which features Mamy Victory and Lil Maro.
