Biography
Akure Wall, a singer and poet, came into the world in Nigeria with a mother from that nation and a father from England. Her formative years unfolded in London, where she began attracting notice through spoken word performances across the poetry circuit. As a published author, Wall routinely spotlights social injustice in pieces that function as pointed political commentary. She supplied the track "The Only Way Is Down" for the 1996 compilation Audium Capsule, Vol. 1. In 1999 she issued the album Afromorph Text on the Freakstreet imprint, supporting her vocals with loops, samples, and live instrumentation rooted in world music.
