Biography
Alan Titchmarsh launched his professional journey during the 1980s and gained widespread recognition for hosting British television shows focused on gardening, notably Gardener's World and Ground Force. His entry into radio came in 1988 when he began co-hosting House in the Garden with Gloria Hunniford. From 2006 onward, he took the helm of Melodies for You on BBC Radio 2, curating selections of both popular and classical music. He departed Radio 2 in 2011 to host a Saturday morning program on Classic FM. Partnering with the station's composer-in-residence Debbie Wiseman in 2018 led to the creation of a recording titled The Glorious Garden. On this album, Titchmarsh recited original poems centered on flowers and plants set against Wiseman's newly composed music.
