Biography
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Justin Honard created the drag persona Alaska Thunderfuck, a name taken from a cannabis variety and shaped by equal admiration for Divine and Britney Spears. The character itself originates from the planet Glamtron and arrived on Earth near 2010 after enlisting with Sharon Needles’ Pittsburgh-based drag troupe, the Haus of Haunt. She briefly omitted her surname to compete on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2012. The exposure ignited her recording work, starting with the 2013 single “Ru Girl,” then “Your Makeup Is Terrible” in 2014. Her first album, Anus, appeared in 2015 alongside the track “Hieee,” while the singles “Puppet” and “Come to Brazil” paved the way for 2016’s Poundcake, titled for the puppet figure she unveiled during that same Drag Race season.
