Biography
Emerging in 2015 with the release of “Ellos Tan Loco,” the youthful Dominican R&B performer widely recognized as Albert06 el Veterano first reached listeners that year. Born Juan Alberto Perez Cuevas on March 6, 1994, in the middle-class Los Ríos section of Santo Domingo, he built his career independently online. He belonged to an informal network of like-minded creators and frequently joined forces with several of them. His smooth, Auto-Tuned leggero tenor, youthful image, and romantic themes quickly appealed to young audiences across the Dominican Republic, where many clips accumulated millions of streams. Although he began chiefly in reggaeton, he later cultivated a relaxed, hazy aesthetic that blended trap and electro-R&B textures and occasionally featured his own rapping. Early self-released videos remained modest in production, yet after he aligned with publishing firm 829 Music and Rompiendo Records the standard of both recordings and visuals rose sharply. The single that launched him, “Yo No Se,” became his signature success, its video surpassing nine million views; additional widely streamed tracks included “Dando Vuelto,” “Tu Quieres Volver,” “Ella Es una Planta,” and “Hasta el Final.” His first full-length project, Vainita Fresita por lo Lao, arrived in June 2016.
