Biography
Christine Albert and Chris Gage formed an Austin-based duo after each had already built separate audiences through independent solo work. Albert, a vocalist who grew up in upstate New York, departed for the West in her late teens, where she honed her songwriting and vocal abilities. Three solo albums followed, among them Texafrance, which reflected both her French roots and the sounds of her new home state. Gage, originally from South Dakota, proved skilled on guitar, mandolin, and dobro while working as a sideman and session musician, having first taken to the road at fifteen. Once they began recording together as Albert & Gage, the pair issued three albums: Jumpin' Tracks in 1997, followed in 2001 by Burnin' Moonlight and One More Christmas.
