Biography
Robin Hunt, frontman of the Flies, issued a 1967 CBS single under the alias Alexander Bell, pairing “Alexander Bell Believes” with “A Hymn…With Love.” The tracks embodied the lightly whimsical strain of British harmonized pop-psych then current, blending peace-and-love sentiments with melodic and vocal touches that echoed the Kinks and the Zombies. Session reports credit Jimmy Page with guitar on the release, yet his contribution stays low in the mix. Both numbers later appeared on the Flies anthology Complete Collection 1965-1968.
