Biography
Operating out of New York as a composer, vocalist, and performer known for her commanding vocal presence and varied pop sensibility, Alicia Walter created and fronted the much-admired Oshwa, an art rock ensemble from Chicago, prior to pursuing an independent path in 2016 and moving to N.Y.C. Drawing upon an extensive range of musical influences including jazz, funk, and hip-hop alongside American standards, rock, and pop, she put out her initial full-length release, the triumphant and life-affirming I Am Alicia, in 2021 through Sooper Records.
