Biography
All Wound Up carved a distinctive space in punk rock by blending Christian themes with a style that extended past standard pop-punk conventions. The group came together in 1997 in Federal Way, Washington, when vocalist and guitarist Troy Brock united with bassist Sean Flanigan, guitarist Jeremy Kirby, and drummer Joe Meyer. Themes shaped by the work of AC/DC and Bad Religion enabled the Washington four-piece to attract a devoted audience immediately. Their growing profile soon extended past state lines and produced repeated tours with MXPX and Formula One. After four years of performances across the United States, the band entered the studio to cut its first album. Released in 2001 on the Tooth and Nail label, the quintet's debut album Hero confirmed the rising profile and credibility they had achieved.
