Biography
Boom Tic Boom operates as an innovative jazz ensemble under the direction of drummer Allison Miller. The band made its initial mark on listeners through the 2010 release of its self-titled debut album.
New York serves as the home base for Allison Miller's Boom Tic Boom, which formed that same year and revolves around core members pianist Myra Melford, violinist Jenny Scheinman, and bassist Todd Sickafoose. Trumpeters Steven Bernstein and Ara Anderson along with cellist Erik Friedlander have also contributed over time. The self-titled 2010 recording marked the start of the group's discography, with No Morphine No Lilies following in 2013. Miller issued her third album under the Boom Tic Boom banner in 2016, titled Otis Was a Polar Bear and spotlighting cornetist Kirk Knuffke alongside clarinetist Ben Goldberg. Glitter Wolf appeared in 2019.
