Altar of Oblivion

From Denmark, Altar of Oblivion adheres to the operatic doom approach first shaped by Sweden's Candlemass and, in milder form, by Texas' Solitude Aeturnus. The band assembled in 2005 and released the favorably received demo The Shadow Era in 2007, then issued its debut album Sinews of Anguish in 2009 with vocalist Mik Mentor, guitarist/keyboardist Martin Mendelssohn, lead guitarist Allan B. Larsen, bassist C. Nörgaard, and drummer Lars Ström.
