Biography
Formed as a hard rock and heavy metal outfit around the contributions of renowned thrash bassists Frank Bello of Anthrax and David Ellefson of Megadeth, Altitudes & Attitude turns away from the rapid-fire intensity associated with those musicians’ main projects in favor of melody-focused, retro-metal energy.
Having maintained a close friendship over many years, Bello and Ellefson had long sought a chance to join forces. Bello managed lead vocals, bass, and rhythm guitar while Ellefson covered both four- and six-string parts, resulting in the release of their self-titled EP in 2014. Preparing their first full-length album, the pair brought in A Perfect Circle drummer Jeff Friedl and assembled an array of guest guitarists that included Ace Frehley of Kiss, Gus G of Ozzy Osbourne and Firewind, Christian Martucci of Stone Sour, Jon Donais of Anthrax, Russ Parrish of Steel Panther, and Nita Strauss of Alice Cooper. The sessions yielded Get It Out, issued by Megaforce Records in early 2019.
