Alvis "Eddie" Edwards surfaces on anthologies devoted to rockabilly and early rock & roll primarily through a single track whose title captures the genre’s appetite for punchy, slang-heavy phrasing. “Real Gone Baby” lands on Grab This and Dance, Volume 20, Super Rock and Roll, Part B, and several similar collections that prize hep, jive, and trashy references over musical distinction. Beyond that one number, his footprint in the style remains minimal. The flip side of the 1959 RCA single, “I Wake Up Crying,” offers a straightforward morning lament, while the additional track “It’s Cool” appears only on the White Label set The Best Original Rock and Roll in Town, its provenance otherwise undocumented. Edwards also served as rhythm guitarist behind ’50s teen idol Tommy Sands.
