Biography

Anthony Miller, who records as AM, spent his early years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, along with the suburbs surrounding New Orleans, before first attempting songwriting while attending college. After settling in Los Angeles, his set at the South by Southwest Festival prompted Defend Music to sign him. The label reissued his self-titled debut as Troubled Times in July 2006, an album whose songs subsequently appeared in multiple films and on both network and cable television programs. Live bills with Rhett Miller, G. Love & Special Sauce, Bob Mould, and Glenn Tilbrook followed. His third studio album, Future Sons & Daughters, surfaced in 2010. Two years later he joined multi-instrumentalist Shawn Lee for Celestial Electric, then the pair issued their second collaboration, the ’80s electronic music-influenced La Musique Numerique, in 2013.
