Biography

Amanda Lee, known professionally as AmaLee, has built a loyal audience as both a voice actress and vocalist through her English adaptations of anime and video game tracks. Born on March 13, 1992, she had already become an avid consumer of Japanese animation and gaming by her early teens. Her online activity began in 2006 with uploads of homemade covers drawn from songs popular among anime and gaming fans. She earned the top prize at AX Idol in 2011, the singing contest linked to Anime Expo, the annual Los Angeles convention devoted to anime. Professional voice work soon followed, encompassing English dubs of Ladies Versus Butlers, K-On, and Squid Girl plus character roles in the games Battle High 2 and Burn Your Fat with Me. Continued uploads under the usernames LeeandLie and AmeLee expanded her reach, and by 2017 her YouTube channel had accumulated more than 870,000 subscribers along with over 232,000,000 total views. Early that year she issued her first album, Nostalgia, containing English versions of 12 tracks favored by gaming and anime enthusiasts. Further volumes appeared over the ensuing years, bringing the series to Nostalgia VII by the close of the decade.
