Biography
Amanda Adams first displayed her talents as a piano prodigy and commenced composing songs during her childhood years. Her teenage period unfolded on an Ohio farm, where an affinity for classical music took hold and drew her into the study of European composers. Fascination with the Russian language then prompted travel to St. Petersburg for structured instruction, during which she absorbed the austere and exacting cultural atmosphere that surrounded her. Earnings from contests and competitions supplied the means to support her schooling and ultimately secured a Master’s Degree from Harvard University. Shifting focus to gothic music, she formed the moody Seven 13 in 1997, a project that had originally been titled Coven 13. The group’s atmospheric sound drew directly from her classical training and functioned as a fitting channel for her darker compositions. After settling in Cape Cod to establish stability while prioritizing her craft, the band sustained its carnival-like atmosphere and goth rock approach through the turn of the century.
