Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ambassador Gun falls outside the rigid boundaries of grindcore yet unleashes consistently brief assaults of sonic devastation at ferocious velocities and unchecked ferocity, even when certain tracks might register as conventional rock & roll if rendered at standard paces. Formed in 2002, the three-piece lineup of Luke Olson on vocals, guitar, and bass, Tim Sieler on vocals, guitar, and bass, plus Patrick on drums, has cultivated a distinctly iconoclastic standing via a series of deeply underground Pangea Recordings titles, specifically A Second from the Surface in 2004, Bison in 2006, and The Streets Have Eyes in 2008. Their 2009 effort When in Hell delivered what may stand as their most refined level of sonic chaos to date, merging the ferocity of Anaal Nathrakh, the technical prowess of Mastodon, the erratic nature of Job for a Cowboy, and the crustcore madness of Harlots, all infused with the apocalyptic outlook of grind acts such as Nasum, Brutal Truth, and Pig Destroyer.
