Biography
Hailing from Garland, Texas, singer and songwriter Amber Dotson absorbed country music throughout her youth. After claiming victories in multiple local singing contests, she relocated to Nashville in her early twenties and eventually secured a songwriting contract with Sony/Tree. Nearly ready to abandon her career in music, Dotson received an unexpected break when George Strait encountered her demos and invited her to serve as an opener on his 2005 tour. The soulful, gritty quality of her voice also earned her a recording agreement with Capitol Nashville, which issued her debut single, "I'll Try Anything," early in 2005.
