Amilcare Ponchielli

Ponchielli, an Italian composer, achieved his renown chiefly through a single composition: the opera La Gioconda, which features the celebrated "Dance of the Hours." Beyond that, his catalog encompassed works for band, vocal chamber pieces, and music pairing voice with piano.
