Biography
Formed in New York, the hardcore and metal group Among Thieves features vocalist Rob Brock alongside guitarist Scott Roberts, formerly of Spudmonsters, bassist Alan Robert from Life of Agony, and drummer Will Shepler who previously played with Agnostic Front and Madball. Just half a year after coming together, the four-piece had produced sufficient original material for a self-released CD while maintaining a steady schedule of East Coast performances. Elements of their hardcore origins remain audible in the music, yet Black Sabbath and Soundgarden stand as equal influences on the band's heavy metal direction. Entering the end of 2001, Among Thieves continued seeking label support even as their demos gained traction on the Album Network and CMJ charts and earned coverage in outlets including Metal Edge, Metal Maniacs, and Metal Hammer.
