Biography
Oklahoma-born Amy Carol Webb appears to have inherited a deep musical lineage. Her father composed works and performed as a concert pianist, while her mother sang and recorded radio advertisements. All three of her brothers also pursued careers as vocalists and instrumentalists. Raised in such an environment, Webb naturally gravitated toward the same path.
At five she found immediate pleasure in singing before live crowds. Prior to adolescence she acquired her first guitar and began mastering its techniques. By fourteen she had started composing original melodies. Only after completing both high school and college did she commit entirely to music. Over the following ten years she traveled extensively across continents, appearing with various ensembles as well as leading her own group. The pace remained relentless, often demanding performances six evenings each week. Eventually she paused to focus on marriage and raising two children. That hiatus proved brief, and she soon resumed her primary passion. Her first album, Songweaver, appeared in 1998; every track among its ten selections was an original composition of her own.
