An Albatross

An Albatross, an eccentric noise rock outfit, consists of Edward B. Gieda III on vocals and percussion, Jason Hudak on bass, Kat Paffett on organ and synth, Phillip Reynolds Price on organ, Jake Lisowski on guitar, and Ed Klinger on drums. Originating from Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre, the band issued its debut album Eat Lightning, Shit Thunder in 2001 through the local When Humans Attack! label. Ace Fu, the New York City indie rock imprint, signed the group the next year. Summer 2003 brought We Are the Lazer Viking, whose rackety grind punk sounds revealed a more mischievously bold direction for An Albatross. A split 7" with XBXRX titled Into the Lazer Eye appeared on Gold Standard Laboratories in 2004. Around the same period Kat Paffett exited while touring drummer Steve Vaiani joined the lineup. Blessphemy (Of the Peace Beast Feastgiver and the Bear Warp Kumite) was scheduled for release in June 2006.
