Biography
Anandi, a singer and songwriter, established her presence in Portland, Oregon, upon relocating from Boston after honing her musical style there. Partnering with producer Brad Craig, she captured her compositions and issued the albums on her own. Her songwriting, shaped by artists like Chrissie Hynde and Rickie Lee Jones, has drawn parallels to Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. Originating from Los Angeles in a musically inclined household, Anandi started composing tunes early in life before enrolling, at twenty, in studies at a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center located in northern Vermont. Her path led next to Boston, where issuing her first record, Melody of Question, brought her artistic goals to the forefront. The city welcomed singer/songwriters of her caliber, with local press particularly commending her efforts. Following the launch of her sophomore effort, The Mirror, she arrived in Portland and sustained her professional growth through numerous local shows.
