Biography
Anarchy Club emerged in 2004 when longtime friends Adam von Buhler, previously of Splashdown, and Keith Artez Smith, then of C60, pooled their efforts to build a fully independent project that handled every stage of recording and release internally. Their shared enthusiasms for video games, metal, anime, and hip-hop shaped the sound of the duo’s debut full-length, The Way and Its Power, which appeared in 2005. Shortly afterward the band placed two songs—“Behind the Mask” and “Collide”—in the blockbuster titles Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II, respectively. A second release, the two-disc set A Single Drop of Red combining new material with remixes, followed in December 2007. Although studio work remained strictly a duo affair, with Keith handling lead vocals and guitar while Adam covered the remaining instruments, live shows expanded the group to a five-piece by adding Jeff Miller on guitar, Izzy Maxwell on guitar, and Joe Sharrino on drums.
