Biography
Owing to his studies in astrology, Anasol Escobar’s father predicted before her arrival that his daughter would become an artist and needed to enter the world nearer the sun, prompting her Colombian parents to journey to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the birth; the name Anasol, or “Daughter of the Sun,” directly reflects that decision. The future pop singer spent most of her childhood in Columbia yet traveled extensively, absorbing the cultures of Italy, Portugal, Brazil, and Spain. At university she concentrated on music coursework while composing her own material. Homemade demos eventually reached Luis Fernando Ochoa, the Grammy-winning producer previously associated with Ricky Martin and Shakira. Merging pop and dance textures, Ochoa and Anasol fashioned her self-titled debut, issued by the Univision label in 2005.
