Biography
Bringing together elements of techno and house, German producer André Hommen crafts a sound that merges deep and tech influences into something direct and minimalist.
Originating from Nettetal in western Germany, Hommen eventually established himself in Köln. During his teenage years, finding little appeal in the music favored by his contemporaries, he encountered house music via the radio, developed a passion for it, taught himself to DJ, and began performing at underground gatherings in the area. His entry into the industry came through Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity label based in New York, where he secured an administrative and creative position in the late 2000s, contributing to projects involving artists such as Henrik Schwarz, the Martinez Brothers, and Loco Dice. Early outputs from the label included his solo debut EP "The Bottom Line" in 2015 along with "Battery Park," which gained recognition as an Ibiza anthem that same year. Additional tracks appeared on Poker Flat with 2015's "Introspectral" and on Systematic via 2016's "Serve." Drawing on his accumulated expertise from Objektivity, Hommen launched his independent label These Eyes in 2017. Characterized by a unique approach to both sound and visuals, These Eyes issued Hommen's EPs, namely the self-titled "These Eyes" in 2017 and "Metropoli" in 2018, in addition to material from Marc Romboy, Clavis, and Asobitai. On These Eyes, he issued his debut album More Than This during 2020, describing it as both his first and final full-length release.
