Andrea Koziol

Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
Having accumulated experience on the Canadian folk and coffeehouse folk circuit, the "chick singer and songwriter" took up piano study as an early child. She honed her abilities at a measured pace while pursuing other artistic outlets such as puppetry, and she performed as part of Chesterfield Inlet, the pop/folk/jazz ensemble that issued Mario Russell in 1995. Appearances at assorted folk festivals and Canadian music gatherings, among them the Vancouver Folk Festival and the North By Northeast Festival, preceded Koziol’s release of two albums fusing jazz and folk, Coming of Age in 1998 and Simple in 2001.
