Biography
Andrew Beaujon co-established Teenbeat Records and performed in Eggs plus several other groups such as Scaley Andrew, Jungle George & the Plague, William & Vivian, and Tha Cheeky Bastid. His clever indie-pop compositions drew widespread listeners because Eggs remained a fixture of the East Coast indie rock community throughout the first half of the 1990s. Once that group disbanded, Beaujon obtained a short-lived contract with Warner Bros. Records, yet the imprint issued none of his recordings. Further material later surfaced on Neptunes Records and Happy Go Lucky Records. Teenbeat issued Beaujon’s A Raw-Boned June in 1998, an eight-track mini-album marked by stylistic variety. The recording took place at his Brooklyn, New York residence, preserving the project’s personal atmosphere. Early in 2002 he launched Tha Cheeky Bastid and appeared at the Teenbeat Records Festival that February. The ensemble appeared on Teenbeat’s yearly anthologies for 2001 and 2002 while completing work on its debut full-length album.
