Biography
Andrew McMahon spent the bulk of the 2000s leading the alt-rock outfit Something Corporate as its pianist and singer/songwriter, later shifting focus to the pop-oriented solo outlet Jack's Mannequin that drew on contributions from numerous skilled musical peers. The year 2013 brought his initial release under his own name, The Pop Underground EP. Retaining the familiar warm and energetic atmosphere, the EP marked McMahon's first project to center primarily on electronics and synthesizers. The following year saw the arrival of his debut full-length, issued under the Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness banner. During summer 2016 McMahon toured alongside Weezer and Panic! At the Disco, after which he issued the single "Fire Escape" as an early preview of his sophomore album Zombies on Broadway, ultimately released in February 2017. He soon resumed studio work, delivering a third album, Upside Down Flowers, by the close of 2018.
