Biography

North Carolina's Andrew Reed—an enigmatic and truth-seeking songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist—fronts the Liberation, whose sound fuses expansive guitar-driven indie rock with mystical retro FM pop. After the 2018 arrival of the Billboard-charting concept LP If All the World Were Right, Reed withdrew into seclusion the next year to compose the follow-up. Taped inside his personal tri-level mountaintop studio, the 2021 album As a Bird of the Air presented a dynamic and life-affirming sequence of tracks that featured the singles "Strangers" and the stirring title cut.
