Biography
Andrew Solomon’s childhood fascination with music led him to compose original piano pieces by age ten. His earliest professional efforts centered on film and television scoring, including three student-film soundtracks that reached PBS before he turned 16; at 21 he provided the score for the Academy Award-winning animated short Patronized. Additional placements aired on the Fox News Channel, CNBC, and ABC. After earning his Dartmouth degree, Solomon pivoted to a performing career as a singer-songwriter. While establishing himself in that field, he took a job as an investment banker and enrolled at Harvard Business School. In 1999 he issued his debut EP, Andrew Solomon, on his own label; Ann Ruckert later recorded the track “Leap of Faith” from that project for her 2000 album 13 Stories Over Times Square. His second EP, Two, followed in 2003, and his first full-length album, Something More, appeared on April 28, 2009.
