Biography
Hailing from Hollywood, California, the five-piece hard rock biker and metal outfit Angus Khan delivers a stomping sound whose force directly accounts for the band name, itself formed by merging the first name of AC/DC's Angus Young with the surname of marauder Genghis Khan—an accurate credence. The group coalesced in summer 2006 from alumni of B-Movie Rats, the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, ADZ, and Jesters of Destiny, with Derek Christenesen supplying the howling vocals, Frank Meyer and Bruce Duff handling the storming guitars, and the rhythm section anchored by bassist Dino Everett and drummer Andy Baker. Angus Khan swiftly cultivated a loyal audience throughout the West Coast via their live shows, issuing the debut effort Black Leather Soul on the indie label Nickel and Dime in 2009.
