Specializing in piano, this ragtime stylist active during the late 1950s and early 1960s achieved fleeting attention through her solid 1960 Folkways release Essay in Ragtime. Ann Charters approached demanding ragtime charts with precision and economy. During the 1970s she returned briefly to the studio for fresh sessions.
